He tied for seventh last week in San Diego. … Day is in the field. … Dustin Johnson, the 2009 and 2010 winner, is making his second start after a six-month leave of absence because of “personal challenges.” He missed the cut last week with rounds of 74 and 70. … Jim Furyk is making his first start of the season. … Phil Mickelson, the winner in 1998, 2005, 2007 and 2012, is skipping the tournament to spend time with his children during their spring breaks. He also will miss the Northern Trust Open next week at Riviera in Los Angeles. … The final round will be played at Pebble Beach.
