Philippines arrests 4 more suspects over death of S. Korean student
August 29, 2014
SEOUL (Yonhap) — Philippine police have arrested four more Filipino suspects in the kidnapping and murder of a female South Korean student studying in the Southeast Asian country, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said Friday.
The arrests on Friday brought to five the total number of suspects detained in connection with the death of the 23-year-old student, the ministry said. One suspect had earlier been arrested.
The student was abducted in the Philippines in March and found dead a month later.
The ministry vowed to cooperate with Philippine authorities to ensure three other suspects at large will be arrested as soon as possible and face justice.
