‘Produce 101′ participant joins new girl group
SEOUL, (Yonhap) — A participant of South Korean musician survival show “Produce 101″ will join a new girl group to debut this month, her agency said on Friday.
Kim Na-young, one of Jellyfish Entertainment’s three trainees who appeared on Mnet’s hit reality show, was selected to debut as the third member of the agency’s new girl group.
Kim, 20, participated in “Produce 101″ with her fellow trainees Kim Se-jeong and Kang Mi-na of the same agency. The aspiring singer drew attention from judges as the main vocal of her team in the show’s group battle section, yet failed to make the finals. The final 11 participants debuted on May 4 as girl group I.O.I.
“Kim Na-young has proven herself a trainee of high potential, particularly when she appeared on the music video of ‘Dynamite’ by boy band VIXX,” said an official from Jellyfish Entertainment.
