Psy’s ‘Gentleman’ music video surpasses 1 bln views
SEOUL, Oct. 31 (Yonhap) — The video of South Korean pop musician Psy’s “Gentleman” has topped 1 billion views on the global video sharing platform YouTube, his agency said.
“The music video of ‘Gentleman’ has hit a new milestone by crossing the 1 billion view mark Saturday at the stroke of midnight,” YG Entertainment said Sunday.
The mega-hit song surpassed 100 million views just four days after its release in April 2013, reached 500 million in July of the same year, 700 million in June 2014 and in December of just last year, the number of hits crossed 900 million.
The 38-year-old singer currently possesses six video clips under his belt that have gained 100 million views: “Gentleman,” “Daddy,” the global hit song “Gangnam Style,” “Hangover,” “Oppa Is Just My Style” and the video for his 2012 annual brand concert “Psy Summer Stand, The Drenched Show.”
