Red Velvet’s Wendy to feature on new single by Ricky Martin
SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Yonhap) — Wendy of South Korean girl group Red Velvet is to collaborate with international pop star Ricky Martin for his upcoming single, her agency said Friday.
According to S.M. Entertainment, the song “VENTE PA’CA” will become available on both local and foreign music websites including iTunes and Spotify next Tuesday at the stroke of midnight.
The hybrid reggae-pop dance song was released in Spanish in September, and is set to be released in English this time.
The previous version featuring Columbian artist Maluma swept the iTunes charts of 18 regions, while also topping Radio Airplay Charts in Mexico, Argentina and Chile. It also became No. 1 on Spotify Charts for Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay and recorded over 560,000,000 streams within the first week of release.
The collaboration single is a joint project between S.M. and Sony Music Entertainment.
