S. Korea to face US in ‘Premier 12′ final

TOKYO (Yonhap) — South Korea will face the United States in the final of the Premier 12 baseball tournament on Saturday in Tokyo.
The United States defeated Mexico 6-1 in the semifinals at Tokyo Dome on Friday, a day after South Korea edged out Japan 4-3 at the same venue.
The final of the inaugural competition is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, also at Tokyo Dome. Japan will take on Mexico in the third-place game at 1 p.m. Saturday at the dome.
South Korea lost to the United States 3-2 in extra innings in Group B action last Sunday in Taiwan. South Korea went down 2-0 early before tying the score with two runs in the bottom seventh. The United States scored the winning run in the top of the 10th for the narrow victory.
