The latest film by South Korean Director Lee Suk-hoon (“The Pirates”), “The Himalayas,” is coming to Los Angeles’ CGV Cinemas Dec. 18.
A wider North American release in a handful of cities — including New York, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto — will follow on Jan. 1, distributor CJ Entertainment said.
The film is slated for a Dec. 16 premiere in Korea.
An expedition team makes a dangerous final trip to Mt. Everest to bring back the body of their friend in this heart-wrencher based on a true story.
Hwang Jung-min, one of South Korea’s top film actors, leads a cast that includes Jung Woo and Cho Seong-ha.
CJ describes the film as “a beautiful tale of the power of friendship’s ability to overcome all obstacles.”
