S. Korean forward Suk Hyun-jun transfers to FC Porto
SEOUL (Yonhap) — Portuguese giant FC Porto said Friday that South Korean forward Suk Hyun-jun has completed his transfer from Vitoria de Setubal to one of the Big Three clubs of the elite Portuguese league of Primeira Liga.
The contract is valid until June 30, 2020, and a release fee has been set at 30 million euros (US$37 million), FC Porto announced on its website.
The precise figure of his transfer fee is unknown, but Vitoria had asked for 1.5 million euros.
The 24-year-old debuted in the Dutch League in the 2010-11 season following his training at Ajax, a prestigious Dutch club.
After playing for the Netherlands’ Groningen, he moved to the Portuguese club Maritimo in the 2012-13 season, during which time he scored four goals in 14 matches.
A year later, he signed with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli Jeddah for a three-year contract, but an injury led him to return to Portugal.
He scored five goals in 19 matches at Nacional before moving to Vitoria, where he contributed five goals in 21 matches, in the 2014-15 season.
This season, Suk has so far scored 11 goals in 20 matches for Vitoria before moving to FC Porto, according to the FC Porto website.
