Samsung’s latest VR browser lets you surf web with just your eyes
By Brian Han
Now you can surf the web by simply moving your eyes thanks to Samsung.
Well, at least for those lucky few who managed to get their hands on Samsung’s latest Gear VR (virtual reality) hardware.
The South Korean tech giant revealed a beta edition of a new web browser on Wednesday, which provides users access to more online content than before.
What did the company decide to name it? Samsung Internet for Gear VR.
Granted, it’s not the most exciting name, but right now efforts seem to be focused on functionality.
For example, Gaze Mode can be activated to navigate features and websites by just staring in a particular direction. Users can also use voice commands to achieve the same result.
At $99 in the U.S. and 129,800 won ($112.4) in its home country, the Gear VR sold out quickly during its initial limited run.
The hardware shares compatibility with Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and allows users to experience games and videos with a 360-degree rotation view.
