Samsung’s VR goggles sell out in S. Korea on first day
By Brian Han
It wasn’t long ago that walking around a computer-generated fantasy world seemed so far out of reach.
South Korean tech giant Samsung provides that experience for approximately $100 — that is if you can get your hands on its devices.
The company released its virtual reality device in its home country on Wednesday, which sold out its first run of 2,000 units.
Samsung also released its Gear VR in the U.S. earlier this week, but also turned out to be a tough find after selling out on the same day.
The primary use at the moment utilizes a 360 degree rotation view as users can look around in compatible video games and video content.
It works with the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and sold for Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
