San Francisco and Seoul initiate sister cities cultural exchange program
San Francisco and Seoul, sister cities since 1975, started a special program Tuesday to promote cultural exchange following an MOU by Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon and the city of San Francisco in September last year.
Residents of either city are now eligible for discounts while visiting.
San Francisco area residents may apply for discounted prices and tickets up to 30 percent to a selection of Seoul rooms, restaurants, museums, shows and theme parks via the One Asia Pass website.
Seoul residents may do the same while visiting San Francisco, with cheaper admission to popular destinations like Aquarium of the Bay, the San Francisco Dungeon, Madame Tussauds San Francisco and the Tower Tour.
“I’m glad the cultural exchange program, which has been in planning for a year, is finally happening,” said Choi Hae-gun, head of the San Francisco-Seoul Sister City Committee. “Through this, Hallyu will expand, and San Francisco and Seoul will become closer.”
