K-Pop World Festival 2015, to be held in Changwon, South Korea, will hold its preliminary competition in San Francisco July 11.
Hosted by the Korea-US Cultural Exchange Foundation and the Korean Consulate General in the Bay area, the contest is an annual event that selects winners to go on to perform in Korea.
The San Francisco competition will be held at Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park.
Winners receive free round-trip tickets to Korea.
The K-Pop World Festival gathers regional winners from around the world. Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KBS and the city of Changwon are organizing the contest.
Contestants will be chosen from YouTube video submissions, open until June 14.
