Seoul City launches new foreign language website
By Nam Hyun-woo
The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has launched a renewed website with content in a variety of languages.
The SMG said it opened the website for foreign Internet users on Feb. 27 to provide information about the city in six languages ― English, Japanese, French, Spanish, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese.
Compared to the previous one, the renewed website has multiple improvements in its platform and design, allowing users to find and learn information easily and quickly, an SMG official said.
Also, by adopting a responsive design, users can enjoy optimal viewing experience, regardless of types of gadgets they use. Users can sign in the website through their social networking service accounts, including Facebook, and leave comments.
The website has four subsections: “Get to know us,” “Information on policies,” “Information on living,” and “Community.”
The launch came amid heightened global attention on the city and the increase in the numbers of expatriates and visitors.
“The improvement was aimed at providing more information on life in Seoul and SMG’s policies, to help increasing number of expats and foreign visitors to enjoy life and their stay in the city,” said an official from the city government.
As part of promoting the website, the SMG will hold a one-month event for foreign Internet that provides free gifts in a random draw. The website’s English-language version can be accessed at english.seoul.go.kr.

I am very happy for the launch of new optimized responsive website. But designers make sure that the website time load must be in range.
