SF I Love Kimchi cooking demonstration brings out adoptee families
September 15, 2015
The Korean Language and Culture Foundation near San Francisco held its fourth annual “I Love Kimchi” event inside a Sunnyvale church, for which it offers hands-on cooking lessons for how to make the iconic dish.
This year’s focus was cucumber sobaegi. With the help of the Association of Korean Adoptees San Francisco and volunteers from Adroit College and a local church, a group of adoptees and those interested in Korean culture came out for the demonstration.
Many came out with family and adopted children.
Jane Lee and husband Arthur said they had attended every I Love Kimchi demonstration since 2012, while another couple brought their newly adopted Korean daughter, Ha-rang.
