Singer Bobby Kim was upset and ‘does not clearly remember his mistakes’
South Korean R&B singer Bobby Kim, 41, was investigated by the FBI after causing a scene on a Korean Air flight to San Francisco Wednesday for sexually harassing a flight attendant, Yonhap reported.
According to Korean Air Friday, Kim was onboard Flight KE023 departing from Incheon when he started speaking to flight attendants with a loud voice for an hour while drunk after about five hours from takeoff.
During that hour, he reportedly put his hands around a flight attendant’s waist and touched her arm. Other passengers attempted to stop him and to protect the attendant.
Kim reportedly asked the attendant at which hotel she was staying and for her number.
Attendants escorted Kim to a jump seat and tried to calm him down, Korean Air said.
Kim’s agency Oscar Entertainment told Yonhap on the phone that Kim had upgraded to a business class seat with mileage points but was switched to an economy seat due to an error by Korean Air.
“He was upset and drank wine. He does not clearly remember the mistakes he made afterward,” Oscar said. Kim seems to have had about six glasses.
The singer had intended to visit his older sister in San Francisco for vacation.
After landing at San Francisco International Airport, Kim was taken by the FBI for an investigation, along with two flight attendants and two passengers who had been sitting next to him.
Kim is reportedly still in San Francisco.
Incheon International Airport Police will also take in the singer for an investigation upon his return to Korea.
