Singer Hwayobi battles former agency head
South Korean R&B vocalist Hwayobi has found herself at war with her former agency, according to Korean media.
The singer arrived at the Seoul prosecutor’s office Friday to undergo a second cross-examination with the president of her former agency.
Hwayobi accused the former president of her agency of putting financial responsibility for a $1 million contract for investment funds under her name after falsifying documents with her signature without consent.
Studio Curiosity, Hwayobi’s current agency, said the president under scrutiny has lost a court battle against singer Youn-ha in the past.
It said the former agency had caused a gap in the singer’s career for the past three years by providing her with minimal support while she promoted her album.
