Sistar’s Hyorin in promotional project for PyeongChang Olympics
SEOUL, Sept. 23 (Yonhap) — Sports stars and comedians have teamed up with a popular singer in a project aimed at promoting the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, the project’s organizers said Friday.
Loud Pigs Co., a content creator based in Seoul, said singer Hyorin from the girl group Sistar appears in the music video “Arariyo PyeongChang: Can’t Stop Moving,” the theme song of the project.
The video was shot in PyeongChang and Gangneung in Gangwon Province earlier this month. Also Korean skaters, curlers and popular comedians, including Jung Sung-ho and Kim Jun-hyun, participated in the shoot.
The project is designed to promote the upcoming Olympics with the South Korean traditional folk song “Arirang,” which was arranged as a dance number for the project.
The fun music video depicts the jovial, lively atmosphere of the host city where visitors get infected by a “dance virus” while enjoying the games.
The video will be made public on YouTube and several other social network services next Tuesday. Additionally, a related global dance contest will be held for YouTubers with US$60,000 in total prize money to be won.
