SoCal gas prices experience largest drop since December
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County recorded its largest daily decrease since Dec. 20 today, dropping 2.3 cents to $3.391.
The average price has dropped 13 consecutive days, decreasing 14.6 cents, including 1.5 cents on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The decreases following a 34-day streak of increases when the average price rose $1.078.
The average price is 10.9 cents less one week ago and 65.5 cents lower than one year ago, However, it is 51.2 cents more than one month ago.
The Orange County average price recorded its largest daily decrease since Dec. 18, dropping 2.6 cents to $3.362. It has also dropped 13 consecutive days, decreasing 16 cents, including 1.6 cents on Tuesday. It rose $1.09 during a 33-day streak of increases that ended one day before the current streak of declines began.
The Orange County average price is 11.4 cents less than one week ago and 66.9 cents lower than one year ago, but 49.6 cents more than one month ago.
