Son Heung-min strikes to lead Spurs into next round in FA Cup action
January 20, 2016
Son Heung-min scored in the first half and then set up another goal in the second half to lead Tottenham past Leicester 2-0 in the English FA Cup action Wednesday.
The fourth time was the charm for Tottenham, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side had not beaten Leicester in three previous tries this season.
Son struck from just inside the right side of the penalty box in the 39th minute to notch his fifth goal of the season, and assisted Nacer Chadli’s goal in the 66 minute mark.
Tottenham started with top-scorer Harry Kane on the bench, and Leicester played without EPL’s co-scoring leader Jamie Vardy.
Tottenham faces third-tier Colchester in the fourth round.
