Son Heung-min to miss S. Korea’s World Cup qualifier with foot injury
October 2, 2015
SEOUL (Yonhap) — Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min will miss South Korea’s upcoming World Cup qualifier against Kuwait with a foot injury, the sport’s national federation said Friday.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) said it will not replace Son in the lineup. With Crystal Palace midfielder Lee Chung-yong also out with an ankle injury, South Korea will compete with 21 players on their roster against Kuwait next Thursday in Kuwait City.
South Korea will also host Jamaica in a friendly on Oct. 13.
The Spurs had already said Son had suffered the injury in a Premier League match against Manchester City last weekend. He already missed the club’s Europa League match Thursday.
