(Yonhap) — The K-pop event of South by Southwest (SXSW), the world’s largest music festival, drew hundreds of people, the South Korean content agency said Friday.

More than 1,300 people gathered for K-pop’s Night Out, which featured seven South Korean artists including Mamamoo, Zion.T and Victim Mentality, on Thursday, according to the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA).

Fans had flocked to the entrance of The Belmont Austin from as early as 11 hours before the start of the concert, KOCCA said, adding the Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter Siedah Garrett made a surprise appearance on stage.

K-pop’s Night Out became part of SXSW at the initiative of KOCCA in 2012.

The agency said it will be added to Midem, the international B2B music market in France, this May and The Great Escape, a British music festival, in June.
