Meet Spiral Cats cosplayers
Members of the Korean professional cosplay group
Tasha and Doremi, to appear at L.A. Anime Expo 2014
Tasha and Doremi, members of the Korean professional cosplay group Spiral Cats, will make an appearance at Anime Expo 2014, held annually in Los Angeles.
The two cosplayers initially drew popularity for their depictions of characters in “Blade & Soul,” a fantasy massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) from Korea. In addition to participating in a panel at the expo, they will have Q&A and photo sessions with fans.
Cosplay is a shortened term for “costume play,” for which fans embody characters from TV shows, animes, manga and video games through costumes and make-up.
The Spiral Cats is known for their cosplays of characters from League of Legends, Diablo III, World of Warcraft and Starcraft II.
Tasha (Oh Go-eun), called Korea’s queen of cosplay, has been an active cosplayer since 1999, while Doremi (Hye-min Lee) joined the team in 2013. The expo will be the first U.S. appearance for both of them.
The expo runs from July 3 to 6 at the L.A. Convention Center.
