Sunmi to return with new album next month
SEOUL, Aug. 20 (Yonhap) — Former Wonder Girls member Sunmi will return to the K-pop scene next month with a new solo album, her management agency said Monday.
The new album, “Warning,” set for release on Sept. 4, will draw on a story that concludes her two previous singles.
In her two former songs — “Gashina” and “Heroine” — Sunmi painted an image of a woman in a lopsided romance who has to accept a breakup.
The two successful singles, released in August last year and in January this year with her new management agency, MAKEUS Entertainment, established Sunmi as a female soloist after her breakup with JYP Entertainment’s Wonder Girls.
A teaser image for the new album released on Monday features burning candles and roses in deep violet and red colors with the title “Warning” also printed in red.
