Thanksgiving spirit: NY/NJ foundation gives away 2,000 pounds of turkey
November 20, 2014
Free Turkeys Korean American Foundation (FTKAF), a non-profit effort in New York and New Jersey, begun its 28th annual campaign by delivering 2,000 pounds of turkey to 15 different charities in Queens area on Wednesday.
The goal is to give away 15,000 pounds of turkey — that’s roughly 3,000 turkeys at about $10 each, and the foundation’s effort is sponsored by The Korea Times New York.
New York Korean American Lions Club also contributed by making $1,100 donation to the Korean foundation.
