Top MC Yoo Jae-suk to host new cable program
South Korea’s TV landscape has undergone dramatic shifts since the rise of cable programming, and it looks like its favorite comedian, Yoo Jae-suk, has also jumped aboard the cable train.
Yoo, television’s top host, will reportedly helm a new pilot program on JTBC in August, the channel announced Tuesday.
JTBC — one of a handful of cable networks that launched in 2011 — said details of the program cannot yet be revealed, Yonhap reported.
Yoo, who has only appeared on public broadcasting stations KBS, MBC, and SBS, reportedly signed on to the new show thanks to producer Yoon Hyun-joon, whom he met on KBS’s “Happy Together.”
He currently stars in MBC’s “Infinite Challenge,” SBS’s “Running Man” and KBS’s “Happy Together.”
