Top three searches of 2014 worldwide on Google: Robin Williams, World Cup, Ebola
December 17, 2014
What happened to Robin Williams? Who won the World Cup, and what are the chances we’ll all catch Ebola?
These are the three topics that dominated Google search worldwide this year, according to the tech giant’s list released Tuesday.
Others on the global list — which looked almost identical to the United States’ trending searches with the exception of a few terms (people were more curious about situations in the Ukraine and Ferguson stateside than the world was about Conchita Wurst and the Sochi Olympics.) — included Malaysia Airlines, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Flappy Bird, “Frozen” and ISIS.
