Transgender shooting victim dies from Koreatown robbery gone wrong
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A transgender person was shot in Koreatown early
today during a robbery and died at a hospital, authorities said.
The crime occurred about 3 a.m. in the 600 block of North Kenmore
Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. The victim was apparently
shot as the result of a robbery gone wrong, said LAPD Lt. Joe Losorelli of the
Rampart Station.
“During the robbery there was a struggle, shots were fired and the
victim was struck in the head,” Losorelli said, adding that two or three
suspects apparently were involved and remain at large.
A purse was found at the scene.
The victim, who died at a hospital, was in her 40s and from Pasadena,
said coroner’s Chief Craig Harvey, who withheld identification pending
notification of relatives.
