TVXQ takes home five wins at Japan Gold Disc Awards

K-pop duo TVXQ swept five categories at the 29th Japan Gold Disc Awards Monday, Yonhap reported.
According to the awards website, TVXQ’s wins included Best Asian Artist, Album of the Year (Asia) and Best Music Video (Asia).
The Gold Disc Awards, held by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, also honored the duo with five wins last year.
Girls’ Generation won Album of the Year (Asia) and Song of the Year (based on downloads in Asia), while rising hip-hop boy band BTS took home two awards for best new artist of the year.
