TWICE breaks own 2016 sales record with new album
October 31, 2016
SEOUL, Oct. 31 (Yonhap) — TWICE has sold more than 165,000 copies of its new album in just a week after its release, making it the highest-grossing album by a K-pop girl group this year, its agency said.
The tally released by Gaon Chart, a Korean music chart operator, showed that the group’s third EP “TWICEcoster:LANE1″ broke the record of their previous album “Page Two,” which sold around 160,000 copies in the six months after its release.
“We anticipate that TWICE will reach as many as 200,000 in sales, although merely selling over 50,000 is considered a huge success for a girl group,” a JYP Entertainment official said.
