TWICE tops Oricon weekly chart for ‘Candy Pop’
SEOUL, Feb. 13 (Yonhap) — A new single from South Korean girl group TWICE has risen to the top of Japan’s Oricon weekly chart, the group’s agency said Tuesday.
“Candy Pop,” its second Japanese-language single, topped the Oricon weekly singles chart in the Feb. 5-11 week after it was released last Wednesday, JYP Entertainment said.
The song has been on top of the Oricon daily singles chart for six consecutive days and has sold 265,643 copies. It is soon expected to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan for selling more than 250,000 copies.
TWICE debuted in Japan in June 2017 with the compilation album “#TWICE” and released “One More Time” in October. Both albums were certified platinum by the association.
