Two 2AM members leave JYP, group not disbanding

Two members of K-pop ballad group 2AM have left JYP Entertainment, but it has not split as a band, according to local media Thursday.

Three members’ contracts ended in January. Jo-kwon renewed his contract, while Seul-ong signed with Sidus HQ and Jin-woon is in final contract negotiations with Mystic Entertainment.

Chang-min, whose contract period is different, will see his end in four months’ time.

JYP said the team has not split. Its members will carry out individual activities in their respective agencies but continue to release albums in the future, it said.

“The four of us always saw 2AM as our No. 0 priority. As we were at the very beginning and as we are now, 2AM is still progressing. I’m saying this isn’t the end,” Jo-kwon wrote on 2AM’s official fan cafe Thursday, shutting down rumors of a split.

2AM debuted in 2008 alongside 2PM. Its hits include “This Song,” “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die” and “I Was Wrong.”

Star News reported Thursday that all six members of 2PM had renewed their contracts with JYP in fall last year. Their contracts began in January and will end in 2018.

    Didn’t you read last paragraph- they renewed their contracts – all of them.
