March 2, 2015
Two Korean American contestants have made the final eight on audition program “K-pop Star Season 4″ in South Korea.
New Jersey’s Katie Kim, 22, sang g.o.d’s “The Place You Should Be” to win first place in the latest round. Meanwhile, Grace Shin, a 28-year-old from Flushing, N.Y., wowed judges with a rendition of Lee Hyori’s “10 Minutes.”
In the show, K-pop hopefuls compete for stardom in front of YG head Yang Hyun-suk, JYP head Park Jin-young and Korean music veteran Yoo Hee-yeol.
Countless Korean American artists have found success as K-pop stars, from f(x)’s Amber and solo vocalist Ailee to John Park and former Girls’ Generation member Jessica Jung.
