Two Korean filmmakers headed to Sundance 2016
December 7, 2015
Two South Korean filmmakers — Directors Kim So-young (“Lovesong”) and Andrew Ahn (“Spa Night”) are headed to the Sundance Film Festival next year.
For Kim, whose 2006 debut “In Between Days” took home the special jury award, 2016 marks her fourth Sundance entry.
The film tells the story of a mother who struggles from disinterest by her husband. She brings her daughter and her daughter’s friend on an impulsive road trip.
Ahn, who was last seen at Sundance in 2012 with “Dol,” returns with the tale of a young Korean immigrant who goes to a Los Angeles spa.
