Choo Shin-Soo walk caps Rangers’ 2nd straight 9th-inning rally
By Lee Kyutae
The Texas Rangers’ $130 million investment is paying dividends right away. Korean outfielder Choo Shin-soo came through for the second straight day.
Choo, 31, walked and scored the decisive run on Tuesday, and walked to bring in the winning run on Wednesday to lead the Rangers to second straight walk-off win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Choo capped a dramatic three-run ninth-inning rally with a bases loaded walk off the Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon to give the Rangers a 4-3 win. Choo worked his way back from 1-and-2 in the count to take a full-count walk.
After a rough 0 for 4 season-opener, Choo has now reached base six times in his last 8 plate appearances with three hits.
