Want to learn Korean through K-pop?
“Talking in K-pop” class offered by King Sejong Institute in L.A.
K-pop lovers who want to learn Korean will appreciate a new summer course being offered at the King Sejong Institute in Los Angeles.
The course, titled “Talking in K-Pop,” is one of six summer courses at the language institute, which is located inside the Korean Cultural Center.
“Students will learn Korean by using words, phrases and expressions from K-pop songs, dramas and movies,” the course description on the official site reads. “Furthermore, this class is focused on understanding Korean youth conversation and culture.”
Roh Seung-hoan, general manager of the institute, said he feels K-pop lyrics contain useful expressions, idioms and conversational words. He said students will learn the meanings of words in familiar K-pop songs and use them in sentences.
Summer classes will run every Tuesday from July 29 to Aug. 26 at the institute.
