Watch out for fake parking tickets in Westminster, Garden Grove
WESTMINSTER (CNS) – Westminster police today warned motorists of a scam involving a security company issuing false parking tickets in Orange County.
Four vehicles in Westminster were recently issued fraudulent parking tickets, police said.
“We believe this to be possibly related to fraudulent parking enforcement recently discovered in Garden Grove,” according to a Westminster Police Department statement.
In Garden Grove, security guards working for Management Security Services and City Parking Enforcement have been giving out tickets that resemble those issued by city parking or police officers, officials said.
“The tickets also include an envelope to pay the fine addressed to a citation processing center in Los Angeles,” according to the statement.
Anyone who believes they have been issued a bogus parking citation was urged to contact Westminster police at (714) 548-3207.
