Yoo Jae-suk is Korea’s favorite comedian four years running
There’s a reason top South Korean television host Yoo Jae-suk is known as “Yoo-neunim,” or “God-Yoo” — according to Gallup Korea’s end-of-the-year polls, he’s come in first as the country’s most-loved comedian four years in the running, and with a whopping 51.3 percent.
Yoo leads popular TV programs — MBC’s “Infinite Challenge,” SBS’s “Running Man” and KBS’s “Happy Together” — on all three public broadcasting stations, as well as “To You Project – Sugar Man” on cable channel JTBC.
From 2005 to 2009, Yoo was Gallup Korea’s “Person of the Year” in the comedy category. Since 2012, he’s returned to the title each year, according to Yonhap.
Funnywoman Lee Kook-ju, at 12.9 percent, came in second in the poll, followed by Kang Ho-dong (10.4 percent), Kim Joon-hyun (9.5), Park Myung-soo (8.4) and Jung Hyung-don (8.3).
Gallup Korea conducted the poll from Oct. 29 to Nov. 21 with 1,700 people around the country over the age of 13.
