Yunjin Kim donates to children’s charity to keep promise
Actress Yunjin Kim, who took up a leading role in the South Korean box office hit “Ode to My Father,” will donate $12,000 to ChildFund Korea to keep a promise she made during the film’s promotion, Yonhap reported.
According to her agency Zion Entertainment Wednesday, Kim promised she would donate the money if the film hit 12 million ticket sales.
“Ode to My Father,” directed by Yoon Je-kyun, passed 12 million on Sunday night in Korea.
In the film, Kim plays a Korean nurse who falls in love with a laborer (Hwang Jung-min) in Germany.
Kim became a promotion ambassador for ChildFund in 2012.
“Although it’s a small amount compared to other donations, I’m happy that I can give this donation after the goal was achieved,” she said. “I want to sincerely thank those who came to see the film.”
The actress is currently preparing to film the the third season of ABC’s “Mistresses.”
