‘Attorney’ to be shown in U.S. and Canada
The film “Attorney” — roughly based on the early life of the late former President Roh Moo-hyun — will be released in North American theaters next month. The movie will be screened at 30 theaters in 11 cities including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Toronto and Vancouver, its distributor NEW said.
Well Go USA, which has already distributed other Korean movies such as “The Thieves” (2012), “New World” (2012) and “The Man from Nowhere” (2010), is in charge of distribution.
Doris Pfardresche, CEO of Well Go USA said the film was an astonishing story about courage and endurance. She expects many Americans will identify with the lawyer’s challenge and courage. “Attorney” deals with a legal case that the former President was involved in when he was a human rights lawyer. In Korea, 8.34 million people have watched the movie in the 22 days since it opened as of Jan. 9.
