EXO’s Xiumin injured in idol sports event

K-pop boy band EXO member Xiumin was injured in a sports event for idol stars.

He was hurt in the “12th Idol Star Athletics Championship” in Goyang Gymnasium, Gyeonggi Province, Tuesday. The event was being filmed for TV airing during the Lunar New Year holiday in February.

Xiumin collided with MMA fighter Kim Dong-hyun during a futsal match and could not get up. He was taken to a hospital, and put in a “half cast,” but his management company YG Entertainment said fortunately doctors found no structural damage in his right knee.

This is not the first time K-pop star was hurt in this MBC-TV event. Shinee’s Minho and Jonghyun, Apink’s Ha-young and Nam-joo, Sistar’s Bora were some of the stars who were injured in the past, as some fans are demanding for the event to be discontinued.

    Xiumin is from SM Entertainment, not YG.
