K-Town Auto Insurance Rate is Highest in California
Koreatown residents are annually paying $800-$900 more than the state average
Koreatown in Los Angeles has the highest auto insurance premiums in the entire state of California.
That’s what The Korea Times found after recently running Koreatown’s eight different zip codes through www.carinsurance.com. The lowest annual premium estimate was $2,287 for the 90036 area and the highest was $2,451 for the 90005 area.
Considering the state average of $1,401, Koreatown residents are paying $800-$900 more each year.
Figures for other areas with significant Korean populations were as follows: ▲Valencia (91354): $1,512, ▲Glendale (91205): $2,282, ▲Torrance (90501): $1,545, ▲Irvine (92602): $1,351, ▲Cypress (90630): $1,492.
The cheapest estimate was available in San Luis Obispo (93401). The average there was less than $1,000.
