Korean man killed in Bakersfield shooting
By The Korea Times Los Angeles staff
Two individuals were victims of a shooting Tuesday morning at a Korean owned recycling center in Bakersfield, Ca.
One victim, Song Kyu-bo, a 65-year-old Korean man, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other was a female, whose identity is being withheld during the investigation, also suffered from a gunshot wound and was admitted to the Kern Medical Center with critical injuries according to police reports.
The Truxtun recycling center was held under lockdown by local police while looking for the suspects, but after an unsuccessful search, the lockdown was lifted.
The only detail regarding the suspects identities is that they were both wearing dark clothing.

It’s devestating to hear this and I’m still in shock for it. The couple are two of the sweetest people I have ever met they did not deserve this. They were just trying to open up their business but ended up being there in the wrong place, at the wrong time. And to have that feeling that it happened so close to you like literally across the street leaves me in terror. I’m hoping the police find those who who committed this crime and throw them in prison for the rest of their life. Hopefully, his wife gets well real soon but for now Song is in a better place than he was at that moment his life flashed before him. He’s probably looking down at us and just like us is hoping his wife gets better. From what I have heard it is believed to be a robbery gone wrong and from all is I really hope they capture these criminals because they thought money was worth mkre than someone’s life.
