NJ Palisades Park seeing rise in population density
Palisades Park, New Jersey, is in the midst of a population boom — according to the 2010 U.S. Census, it ranked third out of 70 in Bergen County in population density, with 15,681 residents per square mile.
Just over half of the borough’s population is of Korean ancestry, making it the state’s largest Korean American center next to Fort Lee.
In Bergen County, Palisades Park ranked beneath Fairview, at 16,421, and Cliffside Park, at 24,508 people.
Overall, Palisades Park — which has a population of about 19,600 as of 2010 — ranked 11th out of 566 in the state for population density, above Newark.
Experts credited the area’s proximity and ease of transportation to Manhattan for its popularity, especially with the younger, working generation of Korean Americans.
