S. Korean govt to compile 30 Best of Best LA Korean Restaurants

Thirty Los Angeles Korean restaurants will be chosen by the South Korean government and Taste of Korea for promotional support.

Under the name “Best of Best Korean Restaurants,” winning eateries will receive six months of promotion via social media and inclusion in a published book.

Lim Jong-taek, president of Taste of Korea, said the plan is to carry out the project every two years.

Businesses that have been open for at least three years, with menus comprised of at least 70 percent in Korean cuisine and which have never received a C health grade, are eligible to apply for consideration.

“The project will encourage an upgrade in restaurant qualities and in competition,” Lim said. “We hope many businesses participate and benefit, and we hope they can feel like a leading part of the globalization of Korean food.”
