The latest update in the real-life K-drama that is actor/singer Kim Hyun-joong’s scandal: Conflict has broken between the two parties over the confirmation of his girlfriend’s reported pregnancy.

KeyEast Entertainment, Kim’s agency, said in a statement Tuesday that the singer’s girlfriend, identified only as Choi, delivered news of her pregnancy to Kim in early January.

When Kim’s parents heard the news from their son, they thought it best to proceed after confirmation from a hospital. They contacted Choi and made an appointment at a hospital of her choice, but the hospital visit never happened. In a separate call after news of the pregnancy broke, Choi agreed to meet Kim’s parents at a hospital at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Korea but never showed, the agency said.

Kim’s parents are not doubting the legitimacy of Choi’s pregnancy but want to know her health and the health of the baby in order to move forward, KeyEast said.

Choi’s lawyers said Tuesday that it is true she is pregnant with Kim’s child and that she has proof to show.

Choi said through her lawyers that she sees no reason to go the hospital after sending over documents, including a photo from an ultrasound, confirming her pregnancy, according to OSEN.

“That she promised to show up for an examination and never showed is a one-sided complaint by Kim Hyun-joong,” her lawyer told OSEN. “We never agreed to a hospital appointment.”

The couple’s relationship has been a messy one — last August, Choi filed charges against Kim accusing him of multiple instances of abuse.

She said he left bruises on her body, requiring two weeks of medical treatment, then caused a broken rib, which put her in the hospital for several weeks, from May to July.

Choi dropped charges through an attorney in September.

According to local media, Kim and Choi rekindled their relationship late last year.

    Dear Editor,

    I am an ardent fan of your news, but today i have an open letter to MS CHOI.

    I think there’s a lot that we did not know about Ms. Choi’s intention here, first it’s an abused, now it’s pregnancy. This is something that has to do with people’s life and livelihood here, i will urge her to go with Kim Hyun Joong to the hospital once and for all to say this unborn child the humiliation of the media, and also to please think about herself and the baby’s father, because if she crumble his career, how does she wants him to provide for the child? Ms. Choi, if really you have nothing to hide, then take the paternity test with him and stop this humiliation. If really he abused you, why on earth will you run back to him or having sex with him again, that means you’re not telling the media or us the truth. i just that we’ve heard enough of this whole mess and you really needs to do something, proof that he’s the father or someone else is. if you’re 11 weeks into the pregnancy now, there’s no way the sonogram given to Kim hyun joong in January (according to the media) can show anything because then by then it should be 2 weeks, which is still blood and nothing more.

    Please come out and say something instead of hiding behind lawyers, Kim hyun joong says, he will take full responsibility if it’s confirm, so, why did you need lawyers. i sense that you are full of shit. Here in the United State of America, some women do blackmail celebrities because of money or they’re desperate to get married. Are you one? Since you refused to control this situation, we are tired of seeing your dirty laundry been aired. Stop disgracing women. Stop airing that dirty laundry. Take the paternity test and be done with it. Don’t you know that you’re humiliating yourself by airing all this, you said you were abused and you still run back and open your legs to your abuser, do you think we’re dumb? are you the abuser or the victim. i don’t really think that he abused you, you first of all sue him for dumping you for another girl, this is payback. Getting pregnant does not incur marriage. Don’t you get it.

    Please Ms. Choi, see the doctor or take the test because we are tired of your sneaky ways.

      First off, grow some balls and put your real name if your going to place an “open letter” on a website to someone that YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW. Second, it’s none of your damn business if she’s pregnant or not, if he’s the father or not, if she screwed him or not, or if she’s going to marry him or not. I think that your full of shit claiming your from the United States with your stilted English writing, and if you do live here (doubtful) your new.

      How dare you ask another woman to get a test to prove paternity or otherwise. Mind your own f*cking business. You fans need to take several thousand seats and reevaluate your lives. You don’t know Kim Hyun Joong, you have never met Kim Hyun Joong, and I can assure you that your existence means nothing to him. NOTHING. All you fans are nothing more than money bags. Dangling dollar bills.

      He’s never going to see you, he is never going to talk to you, and you will never have a relationship with him.     There are too many holes in her story. If she is due in September, then that means she became pregnant in very late December or early January. How could she have a sonogram picture to give to KHJ in early January when she shouldn’t have even known that she was pregnant yet. Knowing that she has caused him to be in a very precarious position with his career, which will support the child, she should be more than willing to return to the doctor with him to get the pregnancy and her health confirmed. Knowing that she falsified evidence to make an abuse case against him, he is not in a position to believe that she has not also falsified the sonogram. If she is truly pregnant, why would she release this information to the media and then turn around and say that she plans on raising the child alone? If that’s the case, then nobody needed to know. Is she now trying to make it look as if KHJ would be a deadbeat dad? Why would she purposely keep a child from knowing his/her father? Just too many questions going unanswered.

      its really true that there are lots of loopholes in her claim. She’s saying shes stress from all these but all news came from her side. She even went to Dispatch office for an interview but she cannot go to the hospital for medical check up? as per their conversation on Jan 10 HJ said that they need to tell their parents the on Jan 6 Ms. Choi met with HJ’s father? so HJ doesnt know that Ms. Choi is already in contact with HJ’s father? And most importantly, as a mom myself, i never knew that at 10wks baby can be seen kicking and with nose visible through an ultrasound??? something might be wrong with her baby if thats the case. she should be staying in the hospital full-term because the baby might be walking by the time she give birth!!!

    I think you should kick your own ass first. I also doubt your name being fake.
    Anonymous has her point. You said hyun joong fans never met him. Please be informed we did.
    But have you met Choi? Do you know who she is?
    You are a woman and you knocked down men. Don’t you think Choi can also knocked down Hyun Joong? Maybe she is the abuser?
    We are not them (both parties) and you take side of Choi, why can’t anonymous take side of Hyun joong?
    I admit I am his fan but I dun think what he done is right IF he really did them.
    Since August 2014 whatever Choi put forward were fabricated. If it’s real the police already put hyun joong in jail n there will be no pregnancy scandal for us to argue over here.

    Sigh. How we would have loved to mind our own business. How many calls have there been for this woman to take her troubles offline and settle this quietly? No, instead she chose to shove a flood of intimate conversations down our throats. Clearly she wants the world to know about them, and presumably to offer advice? I can see no other reason to tell us something we had to desire to know in the first place. Unless…. It was to gain public sympathy? A lawyer suggests monetary compensation. One would be a fool to settle without a paternity test. And so, in response to her desire to let us know, we are offering her his free advice. Get the test over and done with so that everyone can get on with their lives.

    Toni Rosales, first of all, a responsible woman would not knocked down a man. I’m sure you’re not married and don’t have a boyfriend because they can’t be with you. ( your behavior is horrible and disgusting ). secondly, i have met kim hyun joong before and I know that he can’t hurt a fly talkless of human. You’re just like Ms.Choi. Please you need to check yourself into a rehab. What his fans have for him is what we called ‘faith, believe, love and trust’ what is loyalty to you? I’m sure you don’t have one. Stop insulting people with your half baked grammar. If Ms.Choi is really afraid of him, she won’t have sex with him after she complained of assault, and she’s too loose. She just can’t have enough of him.
    You really needs to check the timeline of pregnancy, within 3 days it jumped from 11 weeks to 16 weeks. Check her lawyer’s interviews. Dummy
